(NNPA)—You can’t drive a car by looking down at the road. If you want to do more than just take direction, then think bigger, look out ahead, figure out what you need to build a sustainable process and start building it.

A business idea is a prerequisite for a successful business venture. Good business ideas, however, do not usually just occur to an entrepreneur. Rather, they are the result of effort and often creativity on the part of the entrepreneur.

Finding a good idea is the first step in transforming the entrepreneur’s desire and creativity into a business opportunity. There are several sources of good ideas.

Business institute

JULY 14—The African American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania Business Institute will host “How to Do Business With Allegheny County Economic Development” from 8:30-11 a.m. at the Regional Enterprise Tower, 425 Sixth Ave., 7th floor, Downtown. The workshop will highlight the Allegheny County Economic Development initiatives for the county. Representatives will present their structure, requirements for doing business and their process of notifications for bids. There will also be professional service bids. Financial

Things are not good today. We’re experiencing several financial problems. Did you ever discuss how to pay off credit cards? If so, I missed it. I’ve been making payments every month. The bills keep rolling in. It appears that the balances are going up instead of going down. I’m being charged over the limit fees almost every other month and I’m not actively using these credit cards. I was considering consolidating my debt. Can you give me some ideas on the best way to attack this debt?

When David Johnson, Jason Session, Debra Walker and Ava Floyd celebrated receiving their diplomas as graduates from dealers school out side the Rivers Casino last month, it marked the end of weeks of daily classes, eight hours a day. But it was worth it because they knew they were just weeks away from saying, “shuffle up and deal.”

They are among the 458 employees being added to the Rivers Casino staff to serve clients at its 86 new table games, which—if test runs meet Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board criteria, will being operating at 6 a.m. July 8.
