INDIANAPOLIS (AP)—The Indiana Pacers didn’t see this version of Udonis Haslem coming. There was no reason to.
Haslem, a veteran forward who had scored in single digits in six of his previous seven playoff games, finished with 17 points on 8-for-9 shooting to help the Miami Heat beat the Pacers 114-96 in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals on Sunday night.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP)—It may seem as if the San Antonio Spurs are playing for an NBA title every year. Tim Duncan and Tony Parker know only too well how very long it’s been since their last chance.
Now they’re back in the Finals with their first chance at a championship since 2007, a really long time for a Spurs team that knows a thing or two — or three — about hoisting trophies.

First down. Fourth down. First quarter or overtime. The Pittsburgh Steelers rookie running back figures the best chance for his team to be successful is with the ball tucked under his right arm and his legs churning upfield.

The angst. The dread. The perpetual waiting for it to all fall apart. The Pirates closer totally understands why Pittsburgh's tormented, long-suffering fan base treats every victory with a mix of glee and trepidation.
