Micheaux takes high position at AIU

The Allegheny Intermediate is pleased to announce that Donna Micheaux, PhD, has been selected as the organization’s new Assistant Executive Director for Organizational Leadership and Development. She will be a member of the AIU’s Executive Leadership Team and will be responsible for the implementation of high-quality, cost-effective and meaningful leadership initiatives for school districts across Allegheny County.

Micheaux formerly held the position of Chief of Schools Officer for the Dallas Independent School District in Dallas, Texas, where she provided direct supervision and oversight for the district’s 230 campuses. She also was the Lead District Liaison at the University of Pittsburgh’s Institute for Learning, as well as a member of the SERP Institute Design Team serving the Boston Public Schools. Dr. Micheaux holds a doctorate in educational administration and policy studies and a master’s degree in special education from the University of Pittsburgh. She is also a fellow at the Broad Urban Superintendent Academy.
Micheaux participated in an extensive interview process, which was comprised of interviews with all stakeholder groups at the AIU, including support staff, union representatives and program directors. Her final interview was with the AIU’s Board of Directors.
Linda Hippert, the AIU’s executive director, said that she was extremely pleased to have Micheaux on board, and is confident that she will contribute greatly to the ambitious mission and goals of the AIU.
“We welcome Micheaux to our AIU educational family and believe her knowledge, her leadership and her experience will allow her to serve, with excellence and high standards, both our internal staff and our region,” she said.
