We feel like today’s Pullman Porters
Category: Opinion Published on Thursday, 23 February 2012 11:07 Written by Courier Newsroom
Dear Editor:Thank you for donating 200 New Pittsburgh Couriers for us to share at the 14th Annual Summit Against Racism. Your media support of the Black and White Reunion over the years is an essential part of our success.
Excellent reporting of each Summit Against Racism, Oct. 22 Day of Action Against Police Brutality, and our trips to Topeka to learn about Lucinda Todd have been fantastic. Everyone likes to leave the Summit Against Racism with a New Pittsburgh Courier under their arm.
It is a huge problem that the New Pittsburgh Courier is not available in high schools or on the campuses of our community colleges. It is an outrage that USA Today is the ONLY newspaper available in the cafeterias of the Allegheny County Community College. The Black and White Reunion has concrete initiatives to expand the distribution of the New Pittsburgh Courier all around Allegheny County and the world. We feel like the Pullman Porters who took the Courier on the train to Topeka, Kan.
