|TRAINING BLACK MALE LEADERS—A dinner celebration that included family and community members was held on the campus of Robert Morris University June 27 to honor the Black Male Leadership Development Institute class of 2010. The 65 participants featured in the photo completed eight days of “leadership bootcamp” consisting of 22 separate sessions on topics ranging from intercultural competence, developing core ethical values, college 101, fathering and finding the genius within. BMLDI will continue with a year-round component called Saturday Institute which will meet one Saturday a month for a half-day at the Downtown RMU campus where five leadership workshops will be offered to participants. In addition, four BMLDI participant luncheons will also be offered through the year in conjunction with leading regional African-American organizations. BMLDI participants will be asked to bring a peer as a luncheon guest to introduce them to the BMLDI community of emerging young leaders. BMLDI is sponsored by The Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh and Robert Morris University.
