Swin Cash Day in McKeesport

Two time Olympic Gold Medalist and WNBA star Swin Cash came back home to McKeesport, Oct. 27, at The Palisades to share the story of her latest Olympic journey and raise money for her charitable work with Cash for Kids.

McKeesport Mayor Mike Cherepko was there to provide Swin with a special recognition from the city. Senator Jim Brewster was also invited.

Fresh off the heels of her second gold medal victory in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Swin Cash discussed a wide range of topics—from her experience in London, what it was like in the Olympic Village, to her work with E!News and NOC documenting her time at the Olympics.

Swin also shared her passion off the court working with children through her own charity, Cash for Kids (CFK), as well as her philanthropic partnerships with excellent organizations such as YouthPlaces in the Pittsburgh and McKeesport communities and Girls In The Game in Chicago. The basketball leagues sponsored by CFK are now run almost year round in McKeesport and have become a favorite pastime of children in the city. Several of the children who have played in these popular and FREE leagues spoke about their experiences with CFK and how the charity has impacted their lives. Representatives from YouthPlaces also shared information about their programming and partnership with Swin.

Then on Sunday, Oct. 28, she was the official celebrity Terrible Towel Twirler for her beloved Steelers.
