DEC. 7—The Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh will host its Ronald H. Brown Leadership Awards Gala at 5:30 p.m. at the Westin Convention Center Hotel, 1000 Penn Ave., Downtown. The gala will feature a silent auction and reception, dinner, award presentations, a dessert reception, dancing and more. The honorees for the evening will be Doris Carson Williams and Dr. Jared Cohon for the Corporate Leadership Awards, and Tim Stevens for the Lifetime Achievement Award. Parents’ Night Out

DEC. 8—The Carnegie Science Center will host Parents’ Night Out from 5-10 p.m. at the Carnegie Science Center, 1 Allegheny Ave., North Shore. This is a safe and entertaining location where kids can spend the evening. This is for kids ages 6-12 and will include an evening of scientific fun, pizza, an omnimax movie, science workshops and more. Memorial Banquet

DEC. 9—Champion Enterprises and Five Starr Corporation will host the 37th Annual Willie “Pops” Stargell Memorial Pittsburgh & Allegheny County MVP Awards Banquet at 6:30 p.m. at 3 Lakes Golf Club, 6700 Saltsburg Rd., Penn Hills. The theme is a “Nite of the Champions.” The evening will honor Michael Moore, Coach Terry Smith, Coach Harvey Smith, Master Jacquet Bazemore, Donna Bey and others. Tutoring Training Session

DEC. 14—OASIS will host its OASIS Intergenerational Tutoring: An Hour A Week Can Change A Child’s Life program training session from 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at Macy’s Department Store, 6th floor, 400 Fifth Ave., Downtown. DEC. 15—The Wilkinsburg Community Development Corporation and the Greater Pittsburgh Area MAD DADS will host the Fourth Annual Wilkisnburg A’Caroling from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Greater Pittsburgh Area MAD DADS, Hamnett Square, Wilkinsburg.
