Hip Hop Hoop-Off
MARCH 6—The 3 Horseman, Statement Records, S.M.G. Global Network and Ya Momz House Studio will host a Hip Hop Hoop-Off Basketball Charity Event from 12-5 p.m. at the CEA Arts and Training Institute, 7120 Kelly St., Homewood. Women’s History Month
Program
MARCH 10—The McKeesport Regional History and Heritage Center will host a Women’s History Month Program at 2 p.m. at 1832 Arboretum Dr., McKeesport. Barbara Hafer will present a program on the Women’s Rights Movement. This is free and open to the public. For more information, call 412-678-1832.
Church Choir Vocal Seminar
MARCH 10—The UPMC Voice Center will host “Singing Praises” the 3rd annual Vocal Health Seminar for Church Choirs and Vocal Teams from 3-6 p.m. at UPMC Mercy Hospital, Clark Auditorium, 1400 Locust St., Uptown. This custom-designed educational training workshop is for area worship leaders who want to receive information on the anatomy and physiology of voice production, essential vocal wellness guidelines and techniques to ensure a healthy speaking and singing voice. Project Prom Shop
MARCH 11—The Allegheny County Department of Human Services will host the Project Prom Shop from 3-7 p.m. at the Century III Mall, 3075 Clairton Rd., West Mifflin. The shop will make free prom dresses available to eligible high school girls. MARCH 12—The Pittsburgh Area Jewish Committee will host the Inaugural Caplan-Leiber Bridge Builders Award Reception at 7 p.m. at the Pittsburgh Public Theater, 621 Penn Ave., Cultural District. The event will honor Mark Frank, Esq., the Honorable Justin Johnson and the Honorable Livingstone Johnson for their work in improving intergroup relations while fostering human and civil rights. MARCH 14—ACH Clear Pathways will host its Arts & Health Awareness United Way Funding Campaign from 6-8 p.m. at Savoy Lounge, 2623 Penn Ave., Strip District.
