The August Wilson Center presents offCENTER at 7 p.m. at 980 Liberty Ave., Cultural District. The evening will feature Tony Campbell & The Funk Surgery Band, Kevin Brown as the emcee and performances from other local artists. The winner of the talent portion will receive a prize and qualify for a chance to perform at the Center’s First Voice Festival in May. The August Wilson Center presents the Black Dance Festival at 8 p.m. at 980 Liberty Ave., Cultural District. There will be performances from five dance companies, two shows and one stage. This is a celebration of the past, present and future of Black dance through a dynamic expression of style and choreography. The companies are the Rennie Harris Puremovement, Dayton Contemporary Dance Co., Deeply Rooted Dance Theater, Ailey II and August Wilson Center Dance Ensemble. The University of Pittsburgh presents its Jazz Concert at 8 p.m. at the William Pitt Union, 3959 Fifth Ave., Oakland. The concert is part of the 41st annual Pitt Jazz Seminar. The Honorable William Robinson, Allegheny County Council, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies. There will also be a presentation of a Lifetime Achievement Award, the University of Pittsburgh Jazz Seminar Committee Award and the induction of two musicians into the University of Pittsburgh International Academy of Jazz Hall of Fame. The Carnegie Museum of Art presents “Teenie Harris, Photographer: An American Story” at the museum’s Heinz Galleries, 4400 Forbes Ave., Oakland. This is an exhibit about famous photographer Charles “Teenie” Harris and will feature thousands of his classic and historic photos.
