Leadership Breakfast Series
SEPT. 11—Duquesne University’s School of Leadership and Professional Advancement will host its Leadership Breakfast Series from 7:30-10 a.m. at the University Power Center, Ballroom West, 600 Forbes Ave., Uptown. This series if for professionals who want to learn about innovative approaches to leadership, take action to enhance their leadership style, gain skills that can be immediately applied to their own style and move. This month’s topic will be “Managing Self-Talk in a Multicultural Workforce.” Elisabet Rodriguez Dennehy, president of Rodriguez & Associates, will facilitate this seminar and introduce a way of developing a road map of self-talk when dealing with diverse people or situations, by drawing on present moment-active listening schema. Employee Handbook Writing
SEPT. 11—Dawn Pomaybo will host “How to Write an Employee Handbook” from 7:30-10 a.m. at Panera Café, 942 Freeport Rd., Fox Chapel. Pomaybo, of Pomaybo Inc., will facilitate this workshop geared towards employers on how to write a handbook that will lead to a clear understanding of the expectations of the employer and the rights of the employee. Diversity and Leadership Conference
SEPT. 13—The National Diversity Council will host its 3rd Annual Diversity and Leadership Conference 2012 from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at Duquesne University, 600 Forbes Ave., Uptown. The theme is “From Awareness to Action.” The conference is to give participants an opportunity to share the tools necessary to build a diverse talent pool that can accomplish organizational goals.
