Federal contracting workshop
MARCH 28—The U.S. Small Business Administration will host a Federal Contracting workshop from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Riverside Center for Innovation, 1st floor conference room, 700 River Ave., North Side. It includes 8(a), HUBZone and Women Certifications and MBE/WBE and Veteran-owned businesses are encouraged to attend. It is free and open to the public. MARCH 31—Onyx Women Network will host Emerging Business Owner’s Symposium: Tools to Overcome Obstacles in an Unstable Economy from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Nuin Center, 5655 Bryant St., East Liberty. The topics that will be discussed include the Art of the Sales Pitch, Negotiating the Deal, Social Media Management and more. Attendees are asked to bring business cards and marketing materials. APRIL 3—The Duquesne University Small Business Development Center will host “Letters of Credit, Export Financing and Payment Methods” from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at the University’s Rockwell Hall, 600 Forbes Ave., Uptown. The workshop will teach participants about the financial services of the US Small Business Administration, the Export Import Bank and private sources, and how public programs can help when commercial banks are unable to assist. ONGOING—Community College of Allegheny County will host Get Working Wednesdays from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Allegheny Campus, Foerster Student Service Center, 800 Allegheny Ave., North Side.
