I have been married for six months. We dated for three months, had a big wedding and now we are thinking—divorce. While dating, he treated me so special. This is the problem: Last weekend he was upset because I went out on the town with my girlfriends from school. We left Friday night and I did not come home until Monday night. I refuse to tell him where I was.

I don’t have to work. I married him for financial security. Now, he is thinking of buying a farm. There is no way I am going from the city to the country.

Gwendolyn, I am a city girl.  What should I do?—Rose

Dear Rose:

For all fairness to your husband, move forward in getting a divorce. He does not need you. It is amazing how good men become entangled with wild stallions. By the way, you are not a city girl, but a grown woman. Let me tell you this: Don’t think marrying your husband was cute.

What you are throwing away another woman will be glad to have. I am not being critical of your actions, but two people are to love, cherish, and respect their vows. He will find a woman who is glad to leave the crime infected city.  She will get up early to gather the eggs, feed the chickens, milk the cows and at the end of the day still have energy—for her man.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Kellie Pickler came into the final "Dancing With the Stars" episode in second place but finished in first. The 26-year-old country singer won the show's mirror ball trophy Tuesday.

Teen Disney Channel star Zendaya danced perfectly during the final two episodes, collecting the most points from the judges, but she fell short of the title.

"I'm very proud and I'm very happy," the 16-year-old Coleman said after the results were read. "And I get to leave here with an amazing experience."

In celebration of Black Music Education Month, the Black Music Education Project, presented a special Jazz appreciation event at the Ira Freeman Center, located at 5006 Penn Avenue, in the Cultural District of Garfield. World renowned bassist Henry Grimes, percussionist extraordinaire Ronnie Burrage and super saxophonist Lee Robinson, came together for the first time.

The Ira Freeman Center is a community art space dedicated to enriching the community with a positive outlook in a progressive multicultural setting. The evening’s performance was well received by the community audience. Many of Grimes improvisational fusion tunes on violin, and upright bass, were complemented by the electrifying sounds of Ronnie Barrage on Drums and percussion and the riveting sounds of Lee Robertson on Sax, put the audience in a state euphoria.

First Voice Festival
    The August Wilson Center for African American Culture presents the First Voice Festival at 7 p.m. at 980 Liberty Ave., Cultural District. The evening will feature fellow Marlana Vassar’s “Gallery Talk: Call and Response,” series of large-scale paintings that reflect visual narratives of local, theatrical, music and dance concerts.
