Former Westinghouse grad named one of Houston’s top 25 women

Bailey and her family transferred to Houston in 1980 with Gulf Oil Corp.. Four years after that Chevron purchased Gulf Oil and Bailey went to work for the Four Seasons Hotel in Houston as assistant general manager. She formed relationships with some of the country’s most high profile and influential leaders, well-known entertainers and government officials. She developed and executed culturally diverse programs for employees and guests. In addition, Bailey cultivated extensive media contacts on a local, state and national level and planned and executed hotel-sponsored events. Later she was tapped to manage the Houston office of Winner Wagner and Associates, a crisis communications firm. After an 18-month stint, she decided to hang out her own shingle and opened 3B Resources Group Public Relations, LLC with former Houston Rocket Kenny Smith as her first client. “It is scary, stepping out on faith, but you never know what you can do until you believe and trust God’s power,” said Bailey.

“Our success comes from recommendations from current and former clients and giving our clients more than they anticipated,” said Bailey, now the associate publisher for Who’s Who in Black Houston and is currently working on the fourth edition, which will publish in April 2010.

Bailey was a member of 1965 class of Westinghouse High School. She has been married to Leonard Bailey, a 1964 Westinghouse grad for 34 years. They have one son, Ryan, who is on staff at Lakewood Church in Houston.

“Being named a Top 25 was strange, I am in the background and to be out in front was different, but very rewarding,” said Bailey.
