OCT. 28—Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 451 Park Ave., Clairton, will host a Pastoral Anniversary Celebration at 7 p.m. They are celebrating 47 years with Pastor William C. Callaway. The celebration will run through Nov. 2 and include guest preachers Rev. Donald Turner and Rev. Jerome Stevenson. On Nov. 1 there will be a service at 11 a.m. with Elder William Bass and at 4 p.m. with Rev. Alvin Coon. Also a banquet will be held Nov. 2 at Ascension Hall in Clairton. ‘A Harvest Carol’

OCT. 31—The Youth and Fine Arts Ministry of Triedstone Baptist Church, 18 Harriet St., Rankin, will host the drama “A Harvest Carol” at 1 p.m. There will be a free will offering taken and a luncheon in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the play. For more information, call 412-271-3000.

Final sermon

NOV. 1—Bethesda Presbyterian Church, 7220 Bennett St., Homewood, will host the Final Sermon of Rev. Eugene Blackwell at 11 a.m. He has resigned and will be preaching his last sermon as pastor. Scholarship concert

NOV. 1—The Scholarship Committee of Bethel AME Church, 2720 Webster Ave., Hill District, will host a Gospel Concert at 4 p.m. The concert will feature Joseph Bailey, Martha Jane Moore, Eleanor J. Coles, Rev. Carmen Holt, Jaron Harris, Sherdina Harper, Imani Wilkerson and DaMarra C. Underwood. This event is free and open to all. For more information, call 412-683-2160.

Anniversary banquet

NOV. 1—Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 90 Port Perry Road, North Versailles, will host their 85th Anniversary Banquet at 4 p.m. at Olympia Banquet Hall, 1575 Electric Ave., East Pittsburgh. The guest preacher will be Rev. William H. Curtis. The cost is $30 for adults and $20 for children under 9. The theme colors are purple, winter white and gold. Formal attire is requested. Tribute concert

NOV. 7—Clark Memorial Baptist Church, 1301 Glenn St., Homestead, will host a Tribute Concert from 5-7 p.m. The concert is to celebrate the 13th Pastoral Anniversary of Rev. James Douglas Burwell. There will be a reception immediately following the concert. There will also be worship services held in honor of the anniversary from Nov. 8-15.
