Gospel hourAUG. 28—Pittsburgh Gospel will host a Friday Lunchtime Gospel Hour from 12-1 p.m. at 937 Liberty Ave., Cultural District. Every Friday from now until September, some of the city’s most talented vocalists will sing praises. The event is free and all are welcome. Call 412-261-1692, ext. 1.
Hall of fame
AUG. 28—The Mulberry Community Church, 601 Wallace Ave., Wilkinsburg, will host The First Christian Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony at 7 p.m. Guest speaker will be Cochise Watkins. The honorees will be Robert Munsin, Tom Lewis, Olivia Dosswell, Wila Mae Germany, Brad Arrington, Mike Logan and Rev. George Fitch. There will also be a performance by Spirit Filled Ministries and Karen Arrington. The church is also asking for football players and cheerleaders from 1969-1973. Wives luncheon
AUG. 29—The Women’s Day Committee of St. Mark AMEZ Church, 807 Ross Ave., Wilkinsburg, will host their First Ladies of AME Zion at 11 a.m. The theme is “The Power of Praying Women.” This is a lunch to honor the AMEZ pastors’ wives for their faithfulness and service.
